With the light mods (edit, exhaust, CAI) they make good power... somewhere around 220-230rwkw

VX clubbys should have around 190rwkw standard and with lights mods make a good improvement as NZ EVLHSV said my friends clubby (VT R8) had otrcai ls6 manifold 1 3/4 4into1 DiFillipo Headers twin 3" cats twin 3" exhaust and maffless tune and it was making round 260rwkw. On the 1/4 they should run 14.5 or so standard and with these mods i mentioned they should be doing low 13's or mid to high 12s depending on the driver.

ls1's have fucl{ loads more potential to unlock then the humble 304, dont get me wrong still a tuff motor, but id take the clubby anyday, your get more bang for you buck in the long run

My 01 VX series 2 clubby M6 is 213rwkw standard with a cat back exhaust, no tune, has pod style CAI but thats hardly a CAI...still sucks hot air... Have dyno sheet to prove it. yet to do the 1/4. so much you can do to these LS1's (if only we owned a bank) hahah As for a ls1 vs 5.0ltr (vx clubby vs VN) ,VN would lose hands down.

Quickest bolt-on record, A4 is 11.9 or so. When my VX SS was bolt on I went 12.8 with a 1.7 60ft, @ 110mph. Ahh was 250rwkw or so on Jakes Dyno. For a LS1 eith basic bolt-ons 220-230rwkw is average, 240-250rwkw for LS1 bolt takes some effort. 260rwkw is usually reserved for LS2 etc. The lates model L98 are seeing 270rwkw + bolts and tune. Camshaft power ranges from 250rwkw - 290ish without heads, heads and a big enough cam will net 300rwkw, but will also give fat power under the curve. To get that power out of a 5L take alot of effort. The chev stuff, is basically choose your power level and the parts are there to do it.

When I first got my VX R8 Clubby I took it down to the drags. It had Pacemaker tri-y's and the best I ever managed out of it basically stock was 14.1 @ 99/ 100mph. That was with a 2.0 60 foot time on 18" rims. After I did a few mods, mail order tune, otr cai, twin 3" exhaust, 3600rpm stall, 3.9 diff gears the best I managed was 13.2's @ 108mph. This was with a 2.5 60 foot time which obviously worsened by half a second. Was pretty hard getting off the line without wheelspin on the daily driven 18/ 245's with a 3600rpm converter and 3.9 diff gears. I never did the rear camber mod which I reckon I should have, may have picked up a little grip. Dyno'd the car a fortnight later and it made 224rwkw. I've since sold it and the bloke got it retuned and it's made just a little over 240rwkw on the same dyno now so he reckons it's picked up a bit of poke. One Lamo up here (RB30X) managed 13.0 @107 with Pacemaker 4 into 1's, twin 2.5", otr cai, 3.7 diff gears, mail order tune, textralia clutch (obviously manual) better 60 foot times then my own on 16" MT ET Slicks and an apparent 250rwkw. It never managed better then a 14.0 on the 18" wheels it was daily driven on. Jason. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just curious who did your mail order tune bud an were you happy with it? im thinking of getting oztrack to do mine.

Yeah it was done by OzTrack. I see your in Brisbane, I'd be getting someone there to do it. I only got OzTrack because there were never any good options up this way during that time, however I still do recommend OzTracks mailorder tunes. Jason.

lol, im pretty sure it is, I have any piece of evidence you like. Time slips, dyno runs, video's, Plenty of other people on this site that have seen this car run countless 13 second passes and its very stock. No Mafless, just clever tuning and R and D. I'll even show you a test of vacume at idle to prove its a factory camshaft. Are you Manual or auto?

i made 199.1rwkw with only a catch back exhaust, stock tune and blocked air filter. just bought a new set of plugs and K&N filter, then tune and see how it goes on the dyno and track hoping for 14 flat. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
