Hi all, I have bought a set of standard RB30 main and RB25 head studs, however i'm beginning to wonder if I should part with them and go for ARP bolts. . My motor isn't going to be high powered (as it is N/A) for now. . Howeever you could say it is a high performance N/A motor.. 25/30, 11:1 comp, ACL Forgies, Spool Rods, Cams, balanced etc etc etc. . The reason for the forgies and rods is so when the time comes for a turbo, all I need to do is get a thicker head gasket and perhaps machine the chambers slightly to bring the comp down to around 8.5. . So should I use the standard studs for now (and the next 2 years or so while the motor is still N/A), or should I go with ARP bolts?

While its apart makes sense to do it now - means u arent double handling. And at the end of the day a bit of extra "insurance" in terms of better parts can never go wrong.

yeah fair enough. . The only reason I dont want to fork out the dosh for the ARP bolts now is that in 2 years time when I pull the motor apart again to turbo it, ill have to fork out again for another set. . But I guess thats 2 years away. .

Engines have made north of 600rwhp on stock head and main bolts, personally I'd say leave the stock ones in it, of which you already have NEW ones, and when you strip it to turbo it, chuck some in then, put the $500 odd for head and main studs to something more worthwhile in the meantine. 6BOOST
