Guys i want to remove my heater hoses. Now one of the hoses comes from a line from the front side of the block and the other heater hose goes into a fitting on the back side of the block. It looks like the rear fitting will screw out easily. But is the front fitting a screw in fitting as i cannot see any thread on it at all? Any help appreciated cheers.

I just removed the fitting on the new build.. its a steel press in fitting that is part of the block and can not be purchased separately from all the diagrams at Nissan I have seen. if you remove it, it will need drilling to fit a welsh plug. however, if you choose to replace the rusty thing then I suggest a 1/2 BSPT tap to cut a thread in it. Brass fittings can be found at Enzed or a inhex plug should be available from a nuts/bolts supplier (e.g. Fred tapping) btw, it won't need drilling if you choose to tap it as the hole is about 18.2mm so a 1/2 BSPT tap is puuurfect fit. http://www.stocketune.com/images/jps_rb3426.jpg

Cheers for the reply mate. My bottom end is still good. I didnt know it was a press in fit. I think I will leave it untill i have to rebuild my bottom end as I dont want to be drilling/tapping and getting swarf through everything. Thanks again mate Any chance you could post a picture up of what you have done?

The link in my previous post should have a block picture with a tapered brass fitting near the oil level stick tube. That's it really. Tap the hole with the correct depth to get the fitting to lock up in the position you need. Enzed part number :A25-08

Post the Nissan part number. I have a few more of these to replace and a press in will save a lot of time.
