I don't know who would buy a local manufacturing business... even at $1,000 a rim there probably still wouldn't be good profit in it

14-07-09, 15:00 GMT+10#13 I heard that FR19s are still being produced new, but the smaller rims arent and this was info passed on via a friend that was looking to buy a set for his Monaro recently.

14-07-09, 19:53 GMT+10#14 someone will buy the moulds in time.
the moulds are whats worth the money and the rights to the name. tbh simmonds really wouldn't be turning over big $ because they are australian based and have a very limited market. i wouldn't be suprised if TTF or some rubbish chinese brand bought the moulds.

15-07-09, 17:30 GMT+10#15 Its a shame he doesnt sell the business, no more brand new FR's. FR's arnt exactly cheap! Now they just might rise even higher in price second hand.

17-07-09, 13:59 GMT+10#20 Seems a $4k investment in some new FR19's could be more than worthwhile.
