okay bought another pair of 6x9's for the hilux and they sounds a bit tinny compared to my others, in the low end the ones in the swift are able to hold theyre own but this pair doesnt quite sound as good, could it be the head unit???, ive got a very good alpine head unit in the swift, and in the lux its jst a couple year old sony one, is that where the problem lies, and dont say ive got the terminals on wrong
could be the h/u.
tried plugging these into the swift to see what the difference is?
its doubtful they would be really dissapointing as you say but there is a possibility that being different to your others (what are the others?) they just put out a different sound. maybe also to do with where they are mounted?
oh and if the lux is a crewcab i would say that the swift would be a smaller soundstage than the lux so the same amount of speaker in a smaller space will sound louder.
the swift is getting some body work done atm so changing them around is out of the question, i never thought about the smaller sound stage, the swift one are mounted above the arm rests, but have spacers and the plastic part is all sound deadened and the ones in the lux are mounted on the sidewalls which is similar to how the swift ones are mounted( the hilux is a wagon thing, an import) but im gonna buy a new h/u anyway so hopefully that fixes it up, the ****ty one in there doesnt even have aux output and doesnt have mp3, ill also sound deaden the lux.
sounds good.
if its only a minor difference (but big to your ears) it is likely the source / sound stage.
sometimes even the angle will affect sound.
as for the new h/u what are you going to get?
