I have a few questions on a gas research system for my VLT Does anyone know of any workshops in the eastern suburbs of melbourne specilizing in conversions? 1. What is the best thing to do with the ignition system? ie. what aftermarket system should I use. 2. Does the gov rebate still apply? 3. What is the best comp ratio to use? 4. Am I limitted to a maximum power figgure? 5. Can you get tanks to fit in the original fuel tank possition? 6. Can I remove the whole ecu and engine wiring loom with out affecting the dash cluster? any help would be great....

What is the best thing to do with the ignition system? ie. what aftermarket system should I use. up to 200-250kw standard ignition is fine, after you will need a CDI unit or ice setup so the spark wont blow out 2. Does the gov rebate still apply? i think its over now but not 100%, suss out some gov websites and if the rebate is still available it doesnt matter what sort of gas system u get (i.e. twin converters, lock offs etc ) you will get the rebate 3. What is the best comp ratio to use? Doesnt make a difference that your on LPG, depends if you want a snappy street car or a boost hungry race car (being on lpg i doubt it would be the latter) so standard comp ratio would be fine ud think or maybe a touch higher to be a bit snappier on the street 4. Am I limitted to a maximum power figgure? with twin converters, twin lines and twin lock offs id say around 400kw, as far as i no a vl hasnt been pushed over 380kw on LPG 5. Can you get tanks to fit in the original fuel tank possition? You can get donut tanks but not sure what the power restrictions are with them, otherwise a standard tank would fit but you would need a shield and your car cant be lowered, it would look sh1t anyway... ive seen it, trust me 6. I've heard of a XR6 that makes over 500rwkw, 530rwkw to be correct with the gear you've discribed. There are others that will most defenantly push the envelope furthur

His saying he HASNT seen a vl push over 380. They can definately go well over 400 on that setup though.

lol suxgas your a banana take the net way too seriously n sh1t LPG747 has made 389 @ 28psi straight from daniels mouth but was turned down i think and thats the most I PERSONALLY have ever heard of being pushed through A VL

From what i heard, the car made over 400rwkw, but was on closer to 40psi rather than 28. Theres only so much a standard motor can take. If this is true however, this would make daniels car the most powerful lpg 6, with litres v power ratio!!! There was a reason why the car was 'detuned', but since youre such a genius and guru, maybe you could figure that out, because youre in 'the know'!

It's actually people like me who spend all there time and money on being a ginea pig and developing, playing with different combos and setups which get the correct results. As stated, LPG747 made around 400rwkw on close to or around 40psi... SUXGAS's VL made 387 when it went 10.33 @ 132/4 cant remember MPH, not sure how much PSI, but chris u can share this info if ud like So yes its possible these 2 cars are out running and proven with times!!! I also know of another one in the build which will see BIG BIG power hopefully close to, or into the 8's! he doesnt want the car talked about yet, but a few of us know who it is Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
