I just seen this thread.... 232/242 is probably not a good boost referenced cam. Ahh Speedinc do some good off the shelf turbo grinds at good prices. http://www.speedinc.com/catagory.cfm...ory=Valvetrain (http://www.speedinc.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=Valvetrain) / Heads I suggest the TU1. Also to use Patriot Dual springs to go with it.

You will find that the stock cam will do the job and also retain manners and be easy to dial the tune in..........................

lingenfelter cam 208/230@112. has under 600thou lift so no issues with piston to valve. smaller inlet cause its boosted and a decent exhaust. mate of mine has one in his highmount ute and made 389rwk

sounds like a **** turbo cam, cwreck and enforcer are on the money 9sec passes have been made using std camshaft in an ls1 fitted with a t51r. LS1PWR is another prime example.

Shouldnt you be after greater lobe seperation? Atleast 114 or greater?

Well , a mate of mine's got one alittle smaller then mine running a T51r and it has no problems with anything. Mines fu ck all difference from his.

It will still work, thats not the point it just won't work as well. You get big cubes and force air donw its throat no matter what its going to make power, it just may not make as much or less torque or whatever. Stock camshafts are great, they give predictable power delivery, and boost rates and as Nick says easy to dial in/tune. Cam choice is very personal and not something people give out easily. If I had spent heaps of R&D coin on developing what works and what doesn't I wouldnt either. Try googling turbo + cam + LS1 and have a read plenty of info out there if you want to see what others are doing. Its not always right but it can give you an idea.

The new cam is in the motor. If all fails I'll go back to the STD cam. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
