Hi guys,
As above I have a turbocharger that is a little overkill for my new application and as such it is up for sale. Bit hesitant advertising it here but here goes...
It is a brand new, genuine HKS T51R SPL turbo, ball bearing turbocharger with the 1.00 exhaust housing. Turbo has sat in display cabinet for a few years but is in as new condition.
I have taken the turbo to Rotomaster distribution in Melbourne (http://www.rotomaster.com.au/) who went over the turbo for my peace of mind. They confirmed the above specs and it being in perfect, unused condition.
You will notice it is visually slightly different to a typical T51R (smooth compressor cover, silver nut) and I am advised this is due to it being an earlier version of the T51R, with no detriment to its performance. I actually prefer the smoother look but each to their own.
The compressor cover has recently been professionally mirror polished.
I have added as much info here as possible, but if you have any additional queries or comments please PM me.
HKS Japan sell these for 383,000Y, which at the current exchange rate is;
383,000.00 JPY = 4,877.50 AUD
Japan Yen Australia Dollars
1 JPY = 0.0127350 AUD 1 AUD = 78.5238 JPY
I am asking for $3650ono -> NOW $3450
I think I've said enough...oh, I am in Melbourne, as is the turbo. Happy to post at buyers expense to anywhere in the world.
Cheers,
Chris

I believe so yes, well spotted...I forgot about that! Here's a pic of another one identical to mine (aside from the smoothed off cover)

The advantage of an HKS turbo is not the signage on the compressor cover or the bullet nut, it's in the design/technology of the housings themselves..that's why people pay the extra money for an HKS item. Also, this is closest to a GT45r, which is around $2.5k;

How does this one look like a plain bearing turbo? Please enlighten me? If you read the ad, I have stated it is ball bearing and has been confirmed by Rotomaster in Campbellfield...so unless you know something they do not I think you are mistaken.
Also, the tags and comp cover markings differ quite a fair bit over the years this turbo was produced. Google image search 'HKS T51R' and see for yourself.
Oddly enough, the low-ball offer of $1500 is the most credible post of the three...oh, and bump :)

From another forums comparing Garrett to HKS,
Quote:
has a motorsport designed exhaust housing (lighter and single entry of great a/r size)
has inconnel exhaust wheel (much higher operating temp)
has best designed compressor cover for high flow and compact design
vband on inlet that mounts to turbine housing far superior to bolted falnges and gaskets
proven to make the power and be fully reliable
Best of luck with the sale, I must say I am very impressed by their new T62R!
