GOAL:. Would like my vs to be able to pull away from stock ls1's and ls2's Need some protips on what i should do to get the best bang for my buck here. The moment, ive got an n/a block with a crook bottom end, standard turbo setup, turbo injectors, n/a plenum. Heads getting sent in for pressure testing. What should i do? Thinking, of getting a new cam while the heads off, and a set of fresh rings.

if your replacing the rings, you might as well put new bottom end bearings in it as well. and while the block is stripped, get it decked and honed. and get the crank checked out and cleaned up and why not throw some turbo pistons in there as well, but hey, your the one spending the money, not me

i reckon forged pistons, fuel setup good for 350rwkw, and a gt35/40. That will get you miles ahead of ls1's, but then you need to think about a gearbox.

450cc injectors. nistune. more boost will see you past most of the ls1's in ballarat.

Nistune ecu, z32 afm, 750cc injectors, bosch 044 fuel pump ( around 1250 there) Gt35r internally gated( around 1- 1.2k 2nd hand) Gearbox.... Then just buy another na motor that's in good nick And tune free - 700 That will get you more then enough power to pull away, The even cheaper would be get a 175hp wet nitrous set up :-)

Throwing around some ideas on where to go as far as the engine build goes. COMP RATIO:. 9:1 comp - More bottem end torque - Helps off set the severity of the cam - Helps off set the diff gears 3.08's Turbo comp - Less likely to granade like it has HEADWORK:. Option 1 - Standard SOHC - Buy another head - Crack testing, machining, etc - Nissan Gasket Option 2: - SOHC - Replace head (this ones well ****ed) - Wade 818 cam grind - Minor porting work - Cleaning, crack testing, machining etc. - Aftermarket fuel rail for larger injectors - Decomp plate - Nistune Option 3 - buy preworked head - Crack testing, cleaning, machining - Decomp gasket - Larger injectors - Aftermarket fuel rail - Nistune Option 4 - RB25 head - VS Coil packs - Custom loom ( i can do this ) - Nissan gasket - Crack testing, cleaning, machining, etc - Larger injectors Block work - Pretty keen to keep a standard bottom end Bolt ons - 750cc injectors - High flow T3 turbo - N/a plenum and runners - XF throatle body, or dual vl throatle bodys Opinons please! Cheers, Matt

Ill give you a good example. Two mates. One had an 03ish model monaro with edit, $3000 difillipo exhaust and CAI. 235rwkw manual. Other mate had a bog stock NA motor, T3 turbo, standard turbo ecu, 440cc injectors, exhaust and a good auto - 170rwkw. The VL blew the arse out of the monaro time and time again. You dont need to spend alot if you do it in the right areas.

Do this: Nistune computer $200 Find a simple stage I or II cam for some more top end keep the bottom end std, maybe change bearings and rings but nothing else Find a t3 or t4 hiflow 2nd hand GTR injectors get a multilayer head gasket so you lower the compression = more boost 044 + surge tank Pmacs setup mad 254rwkw with a similar setup as I just explained and it feels awesome on 18psi

man *** bin those 3.08 gears and put 3.45s in Yeah as weezy said, I've basically got the cheapest gear possible to crack the 250rwkw region
