the sound is engine noise, recheck the earthing spots are clean (sand any paint back) and soldering in earth cables...
also, make sure RCA's are run on oppisite side of car from your power leads

Mine does it to. Pioneers headunits are pretty good at doing this so I've heard.
I dont really know the permanent fix for it, but turning down your gains will help it a lot.

i had the problem years ago and bought one of these filters. biggest waste of money EVER. did a little bit less than sweet **** all. quickly learnt that wiring is a very important thing
check the basics first. where are your power leads for the amp? where are your RCA's? does your earth run to bare metal?

i had the same problem once, it only happened when the car was running, was fine when just the ignition was on, rca cables and power were run down opposite sides of the car and all.. ended up being a bad earth i think, or maybe it was a bad amp, i cant remember, one of those two >.< lol

first fix your wiring, second check your alternator they whine and you can hear it thru your speakers especially when you accelerate....
same thing happened to me when i had tv's in my head rest on idle i could hear a loud as fuck whine.. it was the alternator
put a metal pole on your alternator and put it to your ear and see if its coming from there.

18-05-09, 01:21 GMT+10#10 If all fails the noise filters do work. I had a similar problem, had both power and rca cable running down each side of the vl but still didn't fix the problem. So I brought a noise filter, there very similar to this products on the website just for a example. Also you can by these from any car audio shop.
