05-12-09, 06:34 GMT+10#11 Hey all
What are these boost controllers like???
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KGCM2-Dual-St...item518ed294bd (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KGCM2-Dual-Stage-Boost-Controller-TYPE-R_W0QQitemZ350288516285QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item518ed294bd)
I'm wanting to get a boost controller but i dont know which is the best controller too get....
i was looking at getting one with a rocket switch as i can have it on low boost most of the time and then flick the switch to goto hogh boost as my engine is stock and dont want to run high boost all the time...Also for the missus so she can get use too low boost and then i can flick the switch and say now give it a boot so she can feel the difference and get used too it without hurting the engine or herself lol
Also what are these like?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-in-1-plasma...item48388e1079 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-in-1-plasma-display-60mm-TURBO-PRESSURE-AIR-FUEL_W0QQitemZ310186479737QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item48388e1079)
i have a boost gauge already but was wanting to know what these are like?

05-12-09, 07:09 GMT+10#12 that boost Gauge looks odd.. im unsure if i like it or not.. But the Air/Fuel will 100% be wrong unless you have a wide band o2 sender and they are well over 1k.
Anth, The Turbosmart controller your talking about is just a bleed tap? they are known for spiking, not just the turbosmart ones but all bleeder type controllers. And how high you can go depends on what the spring is in your wastegate or Actuator.
I have never seen one of them KGCM2 controlls before so i cant comment on them, but i have and used for some time a "Gizzmo EMC V2", they are built in australia and i have never ever had a problem with it! holds boost so well, has a elec boost gauge in the controller also and you can set it to PSI, BAR or i think HG? You can get them for under $400 and i cant say one thing bad about it other then they are very bright, even at night with the night mode on if its pointing at your face you know about it..

05-12-09, 07:16 GMT+10#13 thanks mate yeah im not too worried about the fuel/air gauge...
but keen on the boost controller as i havent put the turbo on the car yet just waiting on silicone joiners and then it can go on, it WAS an internal gate but that has been welded shut and now has an external gate and not too sure on what psi the spring is
dont want to put too much through the a6 and blow it up lol but yeah i was thinking something about the switchable controllers so i can just flick the switch instead of turning the knob under the bonnet....
what would be the best one of these for not much money as i dont want too pay 400 or 800 just for one thats not going too do its job properly when i can get a good one for less

05-12-09, 07:20 GMT+10#14 a cheap $30 boost tap will do the job.. ALOT of people just run them.. you might get 2-3 PSI of spike at 12PSI for like 2 seconds.. its not good but not too bad...
I think when your running 20+ish the spikes can get really bad.
Also a proper EBC will keep the wastegate shut untill its needed to be opend. a bleeder will start to slightly open the gate well before fullboost making a little more lag. But on stock cars you wont notice it.

Wide band sensors are like ygm bucks . And the gauge will read psi bar or kpa,

05-12-09, 11:07 GMT+10#18 The first one you posted is a bleader with a switch to change to the other bleader, so you can have 2 settings. The second one.. i dont know if id trust a cheap EBC.. The 3ed one is ment to be very good.. The guy who made them is off Skylines australia and everyone on there loves them and says they are very good.
