Bolt - 14mm ring spanner Nut - 15mm ring spanner Loosen the bolt (not the nut as the nut is an interference fit until you loosen it away from the tailshaft). Once all of the nuts have come off - pull the bolts back and let the tailshaft come down. Then bend the uni joint to give you room to remove the bolts out of the tailshaft one at a time. Center bearing bolts are 13mm and can be done by socket ratchet on a small extender. Only do the 2 outside bolts off. Then slide the whole tailshaft backward holding it over the handbrake cable (back half under the diff) untill it clears.

No washers on the ones that i removed last weekend. If that helps...

There's not washers or loctite. The nuts are a self-locking type.

they are just normal nuts... not nylock or anything... i was thinking spring washers on the bolt side or locktite, because thy have come loose on me more than once ( i gotta tighten them again tomorrow )

loctite for peace of mind. I put it on every tailshaft i remove at work. and mark where you took it out from. If not you might get some vibrations.

I'd also recommend Loctite - the original nuts/bolts are pretty shoddy.

mine are brand new, but yeah, nothing to hold them... just a ****ty nut and bolt.... i asked the noobs at holden, but they said nothing about any locktite or washers... (they probably would have wanted 10 bux for 4 washers anyways)
