start by taking out the axles, which means taking off the rear breaks and demounting them from the diff itself. then followed by the control arms. then undo the drain plug bolt (the bottom and slightly bigger one), followed by all the other bolts. you may need to get something long n thin to wedge off the plate like a strong screw driver. once the plate is off, take out the shims. they are the metal semi circles located on the left and right walls. then lever the center out with something strong like a crow bar. once center is out take the crown wheel off then put the crown wheel on the lsd and do the process in reverse. dont forget to put in diff oil. = )

Since you don't sound like you've done it before, I'd say a day job.

No Not an easy job to do at home while the diff is in. It took me about 3 or so hours to do a while centre swap. That was with crown wheel already on the replacement centre. So your gonna have to pull ya centre out, change the crown wheel over (reccomend un-doing the crown wheel bolts - LEFT HAND THREAD - while the centre is in with load on the wheels cause they are bloody tight, and its way too hard to do them with the centre out, but can be done none the less) And put it all back in.. Make sure everything goes in the exact same way it came out, so take photos, mark their positions with white out by symbols or strokes etc. The shims need to be put back in the same way. At the end, check the backlash by hand, and if there is more then 5mm or so it will need to be reshimmed (by a diff shop) Gasket can be bought from supercheap etc. Make sure the cover and diff surface where the gasket sits is completely clean and has no old gasket stuck to it, otherwise it willl leak. I'd honestly do alot of research before doing it, or get someone to help you that has done it before.

Yeah getting the centre in isnt really for the novice you need to know what your doing. It is very tight and you need a fine technique to get it slotted back in Quote: Originally Posted by 5spdvl Hahaha, control arms.
