Time to get my clutch rebuilt. Got a new flywheel here, just need the existing clutch to have new material put on it (I think its a 5 puck) and the pressure plate to be tested. Anyone know where in Bris does good work?

Jim Berry is meant to be good. I haven't got it done myself there but have only ever heard good stuff about him. He is in stones corner Quote: Originally Posted by InsaneVL Time to get my clutch rebuilt. Alot of peolpe use Jim Berry and have herd good things, as for myself ive used a twin plate carbon fibre clutch and can't speak highly enough of it, carbons fricton properties increase as the hotter they get so as you can imagine they make an awesome clutch material (was an ATS one) even came with instructions saying if your going to do a burnout or launch then slip the clutch for x amount of secs @ x amount of revs before hand to put some heat into the plates)..Now how many clutches will tell you to slip it!! cost me an arm and a leg but was totally awesome!

Another vote for npc. Had one in r32, copped SO much, atlast 2000 limiter drops in 2nd, 10 + track days and plenty of street driving. And is still going strong!!! Pickup the same as i had in 32 for 180 tomorrow Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

How much should I expect to pay for a) flywheel machine b) testing of Pressure Plate c) new friction material on a 5 puck clutch ? I'm hoping to get away with all of that for $250.. is that a realistic value? or will I need to allocate some more $$ towards it?

I think its about 50$ to get a flywheel machined, not a hundred percent on the rest but i doubt testing the pressure plate would cost much.

And grant, you are the king of braking things, if you wanna test a car part, lend it to grant, he will test it or brake it no doubt.

LOL... he does have a knack for breaking the previously thought "unbreakable" things (ie, 3rd gear in a MX7.. hahaha). The Carbotics Button Clutch you got done for me last time was good. Its lasted 4 years of abuse! More than likely I will get NPC to rebutton the clutch.
