been a long time coming, thought ide share my very Budget VH SLE mock build; Before anyone starts, Absolutely everything for this car i have sourced 2nd hand and well below average price. everything else i did myself. this car and its transformation has been done as cheap as possible. (more cash to spend on my other 6 cars I dont care what people think about its looks, i built it to how i wanted it, and hopefully will encourage other people to get out there and get your hands dirty! I bought it for $1000 originally with 12 months reg and the sweetest running 202 ive ever seen! It started life as a 202 6cyl manual, body was veryy run down with a dodgy 2tone paint job and cream interior; then i decided it would be a good idea to lower it, and begin prepwork to paint it while still keeping it drivable! then finally one weekend painted completed its 1st paintjob; next to go was the interior, replaced with a vh sle burgendy; Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

got sick of the poo brown dash, so out it came and got a coat of satin black and a new steering wheel; funny thing is i pulled that steering wheel off a smashed VL at a wreckers (HARD smash) its got what looks like teeth marks in it, Bonus! next to go in was a bargain drivetrain from a mate, VK black 308, flat top pistons, crane 286 cam, minor headwork, modded quaddy and a near new supra 5 speed conversion for the hefty price of $700 out came to 202; and in goes the 308; and my homemade gear surround; Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

then decided to paint it gloss black; its first canary! its first trip to calder; one day trekking through pick-a-part i found a vh sle with a mint red velour roof lining, so that weekend i pulled the windows out and finally got rid of the ugly cream roof lining, and fixed some rust; Made this for a laugh, driveable, but not very errr fun; more burnouts; trialled some SLE wheels i got cheap; Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

more burnouts; this engine is a freak, on that day at dragtag its was 41 degrees and i destroyed both of those sets of tyres one after another before the temo went into the red, i was shocked lol. only thing different to standard in the cooling system is the thermostat is removed.. Nolathane bushes = fail; another canary; Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i bought some wheels for my wagon, seeing how thts not on the road i put them on the vh for a while; I got sick of the gloss after a while, didnt think it suited the cars theme as well. So it went back to Matt black, $70 paint jobs ftw! Made up some sidepipes for.............no reason at all; (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v136/Psi_Wagon/vdeoz/?action=view¤t=27092008108.flv) Now, the fun part starts. about 2 months ago i came across a turbo priced too good to refuse, and decided to build my own budget backyard blow-through setup! first i removed the battery tray and dummied up the turbo; Mmmmm rust... byebye rust; i havnt got a pic of the finished product but i welded in a new piece and its as good as new now! then i started on the manifolds (keep in mind this is all done as Cheap as possible!) not going for looks, i used some old extractors i had laying around, flipped over and modified; i am by no means a welder by trade, lol; Exhaust starting to take shape; Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Next to come was a 600x300x76 front mount & piping, nicely hidden; wastegate and screamer; As of now im waiting on my new blowthrough holley to arrive. have to fit the torker manifold i recently bought. And only tonight had my carb hat finished ( Thanks Wade aka BUBALU & Pro-Fab) done well with the modified gas snorkel ! all i use this car for these days is burnouts, have quite a few videos, but i dont think i will post them due to almost all of them having clear views of my number plates!. even so Misk its a big ask for any 308 on a 41 degree day! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I love this car. Got to hand it to you mate, not many people can do that much work on their own car, well done. It's such a gangster looking car... Ive said it before, if I were a cop, I'd pull you over the second I saw this car... it just looks like you're doing something dodgy lol. Assuming the engine has a hefty amount of comp what boost pressure are you likely to run in it? Cant wait to see vids once this resurrection is done!

I've always loved this thing, looks so unbelievably ghetto tuff! And now a backyard blow-through turbo setup? easily the coolest (for the cheapest price) VH I've seen! Love the Burgandy SL/E interior also, i've got the same in mine Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

haha will do! put the new intake manifold on today, and completed the cooler piping from cooler to carby. Just waiting on my carb now! took it for a drive today to make sure it had no bugs, massive fuel leak at startup after the manifold change worried me! got that sorted and its sweet now, ready for boost.
