I have been a member for a while now and finally got a car its a Holden Vl Executive i paid $650 for it, it was owned by a women who bought it from nsw and was studying at the time so it has not been thrashed. There are only a few interior rips and the dash is a bit wobly, i have taken the badges of and the tow ball considering i wont be towing anything since its a auto. I serviced it with all new spark plugs and oil because it was blowing black smoke, since then it hasnt blow smoke at all or leaked oil. Okay my first problem: I did the cleaning lifters article cause they were quite noisy, I pulled it all out, cleaned the lifters and put them back together. I did the part saying put the lifter in a ice cream container and fill it with new oil so that it just covers the middle hole of the lifter and pumped the top but no air bubbles came out, so I suspected it was fine and put it all back in the engine. When I was tightening up the sixth bolt it snapped because i dont have a tourqe wrench..... I went to start my car and it had some trouble starting at first, then finally it started but the tick tick noise was 10 times worse. I thought I would let it run for a little bit because maybe it just needed some oil up there... so i waited and no change. I also think i stuffed up the part in the ice cream container considering no air bubbles came out. So can some people help me Asap cause i am kinda stuffed cheers i will post up some pics asap! Jake Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
