Hey guys ive noticed a hissing noise coming form my engine. When i take the top oil cap off theses a bit of pressure there. Same as from the dip stick. Bottem end going? Had my head redone 15000km ago. Flushed my radiator the other day, not sure if i bleed it right though to make sure no air was in the motor... could that be it?

pressure control valve. look at the front rubber hose between your rocker cover and the top of the inlet manifold. at the inlet manifold the thing that the hose plugs onto is called a PCV. the other hose from the rocker cover is also part of the pcv system. pretty much if you haven't been stuffing around with it it should be fine. do you know how to bleed the coolant properly on a sidenote?

do a compression test, if one /or more cylinders are lacking compression significatly youv done a ring.. my mine the same thing thought i had done a ring, pulled the engine down had 5 snapped rings

if your running a catch can or similar and the breathers are to small it will pressurise the engine and try and blow oil out the oil cap and dipstick.

Took my car to get looked at today, turns out the piping between the manifold and the pcv is some dodgy peice of rubber crap... Went to holden, they dont make it anymore or stock it. Repco doesnt sell anything either... Guy at repco did suggest calling air conditioner places, anyone know the diameter or even the correct name of the piping is? Or just best of going down to the wreckers?

i went once to holden once to get that front breather hose for my car and they said they were $50, which wasnt that long ago. be careful if you dont go to a wreckers and get one though, because that hose is one size at the rocker cover end and its a different size at the manifold end im pretty sure. so you acnt just use any hose.
