go the 6l ls2. Its pretty simple isnt it. And get one of those genTT turbo kits. btw post some pics up of your vk bro

how much money have u got?
if u want big power and strong motor, i would def go cast iron 6ltr block.
cause around 600rwkw the alloy blocks start to give way.
and u could even get a cast iron block and a 408 eagle stroker kit which is very well priced and makes good power

Don't bother with either mate. Get yourself an l76/98 6.0 out of a late model vz or ve. These heads flow ALOT better then the cathedral style heads found on ls1/2.
Straight out of the box with a mild 224 @.50 cam will net you 400rwhp.
hope this helps.

man get yourself an LS1, cheaper. Whack in a cam, headers, cwreck can do 4-1's, and an edit. And that will net you close to 300rwkw. And that will probably rip the rear upper control arms out of the body. And the LS1 from VT-Vy has the forward facing sump to make life easier. But by all means if youve got alot of cash spare...alot. Get yourself an LSX block, and go nuts.
BTW QUIKVL..is that LS1 Turbo..in a VL??

if on a budget if their is such a thing a ls1 is more then enough for the vl when you look at it from a weight point of view-
i always think from a lazy engine point of view that a 346 vs 364 should be a min of 18 rwhp gain or else its junk--
a big stick in a cubed engine makes it work better in idle, power, and torque also their is a trade off of down low power but it can be sorted out if someone good is on the job-
a big stick in a 346 can make power but is limited to rpm-$$$$
if i were you- i would get the l76/l98 engine-put some valve springs in it- a decent seat pressure spring-like a manley not this junk thats floating around for $300-450.00 a decent manley, pac, lnm, spring kit-
a decent split cam even a 220-236-238 @114-
clean up the exhaust ports only and only clean up the the intake for the cast flashbacks to improve the airspeed-do not port it unless u add more cubes-
you want airspeed with a 260+cc head-
i even thing these l92 heads are to big for a 364 cube engine-but hay thats me-
but they are a good bank for buck package if you want to step up one day which 99% of people do when they get sick of the usual power-
their is a device now that converts a 58x trigger wheel to 24 if running a ls1 pcm-
saves a ton of time and money-no need to pay labour to pull the crank out and insert the 24x trigger wheel-
Hope that helps

07-02-09, 20:38 GMT+10#17 get a L98 mate. better flowing heads. They make great power and they are actually very underated as the cam is a smaller cam than ls2. Put a nice TK from gm motorsports, mafless, otr, valve springs and you will get over 300rwkw.
also no chance of piston slap as nearly all LS1s have

07-02-09, 21:24 GMT+10#18 l76 has bigger heads, bigger flowing heads and larger valves because it was originaly designed for DOD motor ( displacement on demand) but they couldnt make it legal with emmisons.
and L98 and L76 are both 6ltr LS2's
L98 makes more power STD but if u wanna play around with the motor a lil bit L76 is the better option.
