I thought the r33 had an electronic speedo drive... and I know r34 does. You will need to replace the speedo with an electronic item however.

The R33 boxes also come with e;ectronix speedo sencder units, and they'll only work on your VL if it has a compatible electronic speedo. Since VLs use a mechanical cable system, most people replace the electronic speedo sender unit on the gearbox with an MX7 or Navara mechanical unit.

You wont get an electronic speedo working on a VL with the stock cluster, Leave it how it is

Hey 5spdvl - have you done this conversion? Got any more info? I dropped my RB25DET and box in over Christmas - my box most definately has an electronic drive. Do the MX7/Navara units just bolt straight up? Any idea what vintage Navara units are compatible? I reckon I'd be able to find one of them easier than I could an MX7 unit. Any info much appreciated. Cheers.
