sounds like the CAS to me, get a working distributor shouldn't pay more than 75 bucks for a complete dizzy, replace it set timing and away you go. Much cheaper than buying a brand new CAS and ****ing around. Trust me Ive done it both ways.

It would'nt run if it was the CAS anth, that's if it start's everytime Playing up over 40kph could be a number of thing's. Does the car rev up ezy????

happened to mine thats all, it would start and run ok up to about 30 kph, but after that it would chuck the ****s and splutter. It would also die if it got hot and wouldn't start again until you let it sit for a while. but cold starts were fine. Anyway check the diagnostic codes on the ecu might save yourself a bit of dosh.

I've never taken my car to a mechanic but apparently J&S autocare are alright.

fuel filter? also pull the plug off the afm see if it makes any difference, - it will run in limp mode with the plug off - will only rev to 2000rpm

I reckon the fuel regulator has packed it in, or there's a blocked return to the tank.

My money is on the AFM. ECU will be in "limp home" mode. I have one spare here if you want to try it out to see if it is the problem or not. I assume you are from around the strathpine area? If so, and you still havent got the problem fixed by tonight - sms me on [phone removed]. --Mark InsaneVL
