im looking at moving up to coffs harbour after xmas. just want to know a few things from any1 that lives up around there. What is the car scene like? What is the police presence like? are they bad on defects etc? Also is there much work up around there? (im currently in the earthworks/truck industry) Cheers and hope to meet up for a cruise.

Car scene up that way isn't too bad. The north coast is home to a lot of car clubs and on most weekends there'll be a rod run or small local show. It's a tight knit community and their car scene reflects this. Police presence in town isn't too bad - they've got more pressing issues than defective vehicles up that way like an expanding youth culture with no social outlet! The mid-north coast highway patrol are regarded as being some of the toughest in the state though... Work is as you'd expect to find in a small, country-esque town. There's always transport work though, and with Coffs right on the largest highway on the east coast you shouldn't have trouble earning a crust. It's a beautiful corner of the earth

Coffs is a hole. the best part about Coffs Harbour, was leaving it and heading further north to the Gold Coast.
