Firstly i have the plate RB30ET, secondly i also own the VL Turbo that "SIKVLT" saw at kemeu (it was next to my mates original Walkinshaw that was on the FR19s ) .Unlike the other VL Turbos doing the rounds mines an original (MX7 and all) with ONLY 120k. At present its still in storage, awaiting its rebuild to "Australian" show and drag standards.... Did i mention it did 13.5s back in '01... not much of an idiot now eh

Oh yeah i remember your car-you had the rusty cap screws holding your unpolished blower on,an pvc piping on your blower(was chris out of stainless, there's always aluminium),is that really show worthy? There are some exceptionally well built walkinshaws(and later model commies) out here in NZ,they might not stand toe to toe with the walkinshaws of Jeff Briffa,Steve Santos or Jason Grey's VS,but they're not too far off it either. You wont be seeing my VLT doing 8s.... have you ever seen/read about a manual turbo pulling 8s without a dog box. But be honest, you could of spent a bit more time tidying yours up.Chris turns out some mint commies or has a hand in them(i only acquired mine VLT cos i missed out on his walkinshaw) Im not taking a shot at anyone each to their own, what ever floats your boat. And were did i say i was the only one on here with a genuine VLT?

We shouldnt put each others gear down, we should be saying yeah go hard and make a mint car or what ever. Ive owned some mint cars over the yeahs and the most fun I ever had was in a VR GTS which was rough but I could just drive it hard and not worry about it being SHOW KING.

When did I ever say mine was a show car or show standard, your the one ranting on about building an "Australian" standard show/drag car. I built mine for street use, not once did I take it to a show or drag even. It was used mostly at odd times on back streets in Whitford for my own enjoyment. To be honest I don’t like shinny bits on cars, I would have thought that was obvious from the paint colour I chose, along with the rims, engine covers, and un-polished blower. If you want all the shinny bits to show your friends by all means go for it. My car was featured in NZV8 magazine purely for advertising as I was about to sell it Quote: Originally Posted by rob.s There are some exceptionally well built walkinshaws(and later model commies) out here in NZ,they might not stand toe to toe with the walkinshaws of Jeff Briffa,Steve Santos or Jason Grey's VS,but they're not too far off it either Comparing my car to Steve Santos is ridiculous, if I had quarter of a million dollars to chuck at a genuine Walky I’m sure I would have built something of similar quality and perhaps a little more tasteful. Your words mate... awaiting its rebuild to "Australian" show and drag standards.... Australian drag standards for a VLT is 8s, or 9s with a manual Quote: Originally Posted by rob.s But be honest, you could of spent a bit more time tidying yours up.Chris turns out some mint commies or has a hand in them Once again I never built my VL as a show pony, it was built to be trashed on the streets. I doubt I will every build a show car, it’s just not my thing Quote: Originally Posted by rob.s (i only acquired mine VLT cos i missed out on his walkinshaw) The orange one or the red race car? The orange one was a bucket of shit that ended up having to be re-painted 2 years later, and what an awesome colour Tiger Gold was, how many walkys were painted that colour, 8, 9, 10 or more?... cool have the same looking car as everyone. His red race car was pretty good though, but not street legal or show quality Quote: Originally Posted by rob.s And were did i say i was the only one on here with a genuine VLT? WOW............Rob.s whats wrong lol gee you have been in here 5 mins and your stiring up a ****???? some pics of your car would be cool and not being rude or anything but how you worded your first post made it sound like your the only one with a genuine VLT.....well for starters I own 2 genuine BT1's......SIKVLT owns a genine turbo wagon (which might I add is rarer than yours its a factory MX7 turbo wagon!!!!)a notch otherwise reality is we will all tell yuo to **** off basically because we are in here because we all get along and meet up etc........if you have a problem with someone in here then take it elsewhere we dont want your bull**** in the forum. Kind Reguards Aaron (south island) PS nice to meet you Quote: Originally Posted by 12maneym mines a mock up,i think i did quite a good job though.
