Ok so my pc got infected with viruses and spyware. I bought bitdefender 2009. I did a whole system scan and half the viruses it found it couldt "take any action" (delete) because they were in .rar files or just couldnt delete it for whatever reason.
So my question is. What is the best antivirus program to get rid of all the viruses and spyware (a strong antivirus which will delete viruses even if in .rar files)?

You can get McAfee antivirus for free here - http://daol.aol.com/security/virusscan-plus
Just make an AOL email account or something...
I use this antivirus, does the job.

I dunno how to get rid of what ever is causing it

I cant update. When I try to install the update it always brings up this thing asking me to put in the microsoft word 2002 cd :S. I dont have any cds so my only option is to press cancel and it wont install.

12-11-08, 20:24 GMT+10#13 Most likely have entries in your hosts file thats causing the redirections, as for Bit Defender it is up there with the good apps and the reason it's not deleting your viruses is probably because the viruses are in use, can't delete files that are being used by another process. I personally use Kaspersky but Bit Defender should do the job just as good. Try running it in safe mode, the viruses won't be in use in safe mode.

Tried it in safe mode. All viruses are gone but google is still redirecting.
