Well now i bloody know how to host and then post photos on the intamanet i will post up my 87 vl calais turbo. I live in SE queensland and have always wanted a VLCT and then i sort of came into a bit of money (selling a written off 4by that i had) and went on the look for a vlct. I already had a vlt but have always loved the look and appeal of the calais. So naturally as ya do i jumped on carsales and started looking. There were a few on there but nothing really popped out for me so i just let it rest for a while. a week later i was back on there looking around and one certain subject in melbourne caught my eye. another week past and the vlct had gotten to a price that was unpassable. See in qld vlct arent cheap, they are very expensive when u have a look at the examples that are on offer around our great auz. So i rang him (wed) and i was booked in too look at the car on the sat. Next day (thur) i was down at flight centre booking my plane ticket. Get back home and get a phone call some hours later "Mate theres a guy coming to buy the car right now, he says he has the cash" NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO! says I. As you can imagine i was pissed!!!!!!!!! Later that night get another phone call from him "Dude the guy came and he could only give me $100, says hes goin to get the rest of it, Have you got the cash?" and im like "yeah i have the whole $5,600 right here" and hes like "alright i'll tell this guy to beat it and its your" So im like" SWEEEEEETTTTT! Get down there on the sat and its exactly what i was after and in excellent condition. So on the monday he was handing in the plates and getting me a permit to drive the 1900 k's back to SE qld. monday comes and i get there and it wont start, GREAT! So hes like **** come back tomorrow and i'll have it sorted, and he adds u might wanna pick up a N/A computer to get home with, hhmmmmmm. I could understand this though as the thing was pissing out black smoke from the exhaust on idle. So the next day i get there and we put the n/a computer in, just starts but its running on about 3-4 cylinders. have a look at the spark plugs and they are fouled something cronic. Head down to repco and pick up a set, get back to his place put em in and bang she starts up perfectly. So its tuesday about 11am and i gotta get back to work so I say goodbye to my cousins (where i was staying) and off i set on my trip home this photo is just out of melbourne (first piss stop). This next one was a bit of fun just out of sydney wednesday morning. Got a mate who lives in penrith so i got to his at 11pm tuesday night and managed to get 6 hours sleep and then headed off again after dropping him off at work. just another photo from the trip at the big prawn in ballina (piss stop)! and then as soon as i got it back home i gave her a bath at carlovers beenleigh! So i made it after doing about 2000 k's and 19.5 hours on the road over 2 days its back safe and sound and absolutley no problems along the way. Also didnt get pulled over once. So after a month of waiting i sell my vlt and get the calais on the road the day before C4C 5. Awesome day that was. So thought id add some stuff about the car. its an 87 vl calais turbo polished calais rims a custom purple with a blue pearl rebuild lsd (its so tight) i love it high flow T3/4 3" exhaust from the turbo VS HSV seats with massages and seat warmers in them n/a computer atm, still waiting for microtech and some other little stuff To get it rw'd i replaced the front shockies (they were absolutley rooted), lowered the back to make it sit level and put a new exhaust tip on it. just a bit of an update got some 18" vy SS rims on it now, i reckon they look sweet. ordered a gktech intercooler kit today which should be here in the next 3 weeks. just a little photo from the spit yesterday. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
