Hi, this is my VL. Black/ Blue pearl, original walkinshaw rims, rebuilt engine with 230kw. Plans are for a LSD, lowering (of course) Keas auto, quality stereo system (Alpine, Clarion, Hertz, Digital Design)?? and a supercharger. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

How did you know The guy I bought it off was great, couldn't believe how much I got it for! I could tell he was having a hard time letting it go.. When I got it home the first thing I did was strip the entire interior. Seats, carpet, console/ dash etc. I cleaned everything until my elbows where saw and put it all back (The seats looked clean, but you wouldn't believe how much **** comes out when you scrub them. I scrubed the seats 3 times over until I was happy with it) It's like new now.. also had to buy some Snap-On seat covers. I took out the old crappy stereo and a new one is going in. I fitted new headlights with H3/H4 globes? I forgot. I've ordered a new calais grill, chrome door handles, new ignition barrel, new fuel cap, Autotecnica wooden steering wheel. I'm getting a set of King or Pedders springs next week, havn't decided on which brand, with shocks. Maybe a panhard rod if I need it. Plan on keeping the walkinshaw rims on atm. Yeah, overall the car is in great shape. It's going to be in better shape when I finish, I just started. Oh yeah, I also found $12 in change when I was cleaning the car! Very nice looking ride there, good to see another genuine 5L calais. That cold air tray, how effective is it with no bonnet scoop of any sort? Been looking for something to add to mine.

Been looking for something to add to mine. Hey, I'm not exactly sure how effective it is. The air filter surround has the HDT logo on it, I was told by a friend mechanic that it is set up like a factory Brock VL?? He told me the air filter gets the air from the vents in the bonnet. The vents just under the windscreen wipers. So I guess it's not as effective as having the filter sticking out of the bonnet :P Quote: Originally Posted by vlcalais8 Very nice mate how about a 355 stroker with that blower Haha, I am. My friend works in a place that reconditions engines.. fitting new valves etc. I plan to stroke it to a 5.7ltr 355. I forgot the workshop name but a guy there owns a 10 sec VK. So I guess they know what they are doing I was quoted 7g from some other workshop, but I'll be able to get a 355 for a fraction of the cost at my friends work. The black beast looks super neat, reminds me of an SV88, classic lines.

Mate congratulations on the new ride. I called the guy to look at the car but I was one day late as he sold it to you the day before! Well at least it was someone from this forum so enjoy!
