No one makes off the shelf manifolds for pre-efi heads and require custom fabrication. Not all that difficult.

best bet would be to use a coupleof block hugger headers backwards and with a bit of extra pipe some welding and bending anything is possible mate. if you have a set of old extractors floating around buy a chev twin turbo kit or manifolds change the flange plates to holden and run a pair of eith skyline turbos or std vl turbos doing it that way you could probly get out of it fairly cheap. well thats my plans for my hz ute anyway. regards will

if you're using the GT35r the std manifolds flipped wont be much of a restriction. you'll get on boost at 2500rpm anyway lol!

Jake uses factory exhaust manifolds........ makes over a 1000 @ the tyres. Though I do believe he uses late model heads and I think they are VS manifolds. I could be wrong.

yer ur right. there are a couple of holden v8 turbo motors retaining the stock ex manifolds. mainly in later models because of the lack of room (trust me there is none) and spark plug access.

thats a GT4088 plain bearing turbo, on a 355 stroker (vn heads, 9:1 comp). it ran a low 11 and then the oil line broke and the turbo went pop. he got a different manifold, motec, another 4088, and switched from tuned length manfiolds to stock vn manifolds with 2" crossover. best he has run is a 10.6 on 14psi.

what spam? pm sent "boom" i have 3 sets of old extractors. im a mechanic but welding really aint my best skill lol. reason i was gona go 35/40 because there cheap now days and make good power. i want to stay single turbo, other wise yea i wouldve bort the chev kit off ebay an changed manifolds. i really hope someone has a set of pipes or a turbo kit that pops up on ebay or something, ive got the feelers out anyway. this is my zed. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

my comp ratio isnt gona be changed or anything. i will run max boost of bout 10psi until something pops. the falcon 35/40 should hold up i would think? i know what your saying tho. someone help me find someone to make my manifolds in eastern suburbs farking.

change to vn heads!~ use a stock exhaust manifold, flipped, and fabricate a crossover pipe. Weld the internal gate shut and use a decent wastegate

hmmm. i would do that buy my budget will get blown outa the water as usual, then id hafto get the heads reco/valves lapped/ports cleaned up ect ect. another top end kit, another manifold.. ill hafto think about what i wanna do before i make the big decision on what heads i wanna use because once the manifolds are made i aint changing the heads.. mine are already l34 with roller rockers...

you can still use stock early manifolds man. just fab a crossover to the turbo. there are a couple of holden V8s with GT35rs getting round Quote: Originally Posted by VH-747 what spam? he means spasm. the guy who built that vn up above.

Yes the V8 will flow more out the wastegate but some of these 3 litres are turning 8000rpm... aint many turbo V8s doing that. Most probably wouldnt turn it over 5500. What im saying is that the airflow through the wastegate would be comparible Id imagine.

What im saying is that the airflow through the wastegate would be comparible Id imagine. All things being comparable a 5L is flowing 1 2/3 more air at all stages of the rev range, so even at say a conservative 6000rpm times that by 1 2/3 gives you 10000rpm worth of 3L. Running low boost wont help the matter either as you will need to flow more through the wastegate to keep it low. Meh I would give it a crack with the internal gate anyway. No point spending coin if you dont need to, but if its start to spike towards the top end of the rev range weld that mofo up and use an external gate.
