Sadly the vl virus has bit me. the highbeam fuse has melted into the fuse holder so i need to get a whole new one, can any1 sugest a good auto elec. to do the job? or even if there rewired the highbeams/headlights to there own stand alone fuse system that would be good too. im guesing il be looking at $80 to $120ish for this repair???? thanks.

There is a aftermarket one you can get from oz im not too sure where from though. its made from some kind of circut board & it has lights on it that light up when one blows & you can install it yourself if you know your way around a vl. if someone knows where they come from let me know lol

Send a PM to Niche. I bought 3 of them last Christmas, havn't gotten around to fitting them yet.. should probably get on to that. You can get them with or without an engine bay lighting kit too. To install you just unscrew the old fuse rail, roll it to the side, lay the new one next to it and then one by one pull the wires off the old one, crimp a terminal onto the wire (the kit comes with enough) and plug it into the new. Go all the way along the fuse rail and just screw the new rail down. When I bought mine he said there were atleast 3 NZ members already with them.

yeah he has sold heaps of them, i think he is really busy with work at the moment though, there is a bit of a wait for them, if your stuck you can cut the wires and wire in some fuses to get you by until he makes some more. He has a thread for them somewhere on here.

Na, no silly engine bay lights. Was planning on putting the fuse rail under the dash and using that corner of the engine bay for a catch can.

The basic item is just the rail inside the black box that the fuses push into. But you can also get a relay holder from him, so you can then relocate the whole lot to somewhere else. A bit more work involved with that I think.. He said that a good place for it is where the original ECU is, but to make room there you need an aftermarket ECU.. a little bit overkill for my car. I looked at doing mine today, but the rail doesn't pull out as far as I thought it would (the wires won't let it lift out and to the side at one end) so I'm gonna watch the instruction video and stuff later, then have another look.

i just use the 25A breaker that runs the door & windows. cut the two green wires off the back of the old fuse and lug it onto the breaker(a new breaker not the door one)

got it done today, it only cost $30. just cut the wires and put in a new breaker.
