Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can help me out. My VL turbo is driving in up the freaking wall. The problem isnt straight forward. THe car seems to be loosing water all the time. I took it to my mechanic and he pressure tested the raditor, checked the head over, replaced all the hoses (all of them). I even bought a new radiator cap ( recovery system one). However for the past week everytime i go to check the water in the raditor the next day there was pressure, so i replaced the cap today with another one and it was fine however i started leaking water from some where behind the block? Does anyone know what this could be? could it be a welsh plug? And also its been a year since i put water/coolant in my overflow bottle and that hasnt moved a drop Any help would be great as this as me and my mechanic stumped. thanks

one of those pesky little rubber hoses that run behind the head/block? for there to still be pressure in the radiator the next day i think you may have a head gasket problem

I have now booked my car in at JPC hopefully they can solve the problem. I have already replaced all the those behind the block. I think its either the head or the welsh plug

why cant your mechanic pressurise the cooling system and use a telescopic mirror to look behind the head and block for where the leak is coming from??

try the metal water line that runs around the back of the block to the turbo

I am not gonna even bother looking over it. CBF. Dropping it off to JPC next week hopefully they can get it all sorted for me.

As said above, it'll be the thin metal line that runs back of block, drivers side....they corrode and split....I had to shorten mine....the metal pipe that is....

Had exactly the same problem, pressure and chemical test on radiator came up fine so i took the head off and there was a crack from the water jacket to the combustion chamber.

I had the same problem. If you cant see any leaks then check your block or in the bores. Mine crack was about 6cms long. I hope for your sake its not. What sort of Hp you running?

alot of signs are pointing towards a welsh plug or alot more serious problems like the block dont blame you for not trying to find it as its a vl there a head ****, any simple vl problem ends up being a big problem, jpc will definetly sort it out for ya. just hope its not a big problem.

Rubber hose connecting the coolant pipe from the turbo around the back of the head/block... I just replaced mine its a bugger of a job... If it is that you can get underneath the car and it will be running down the transmission housing on the passenger side.

I havent had a look at it since. But i have asked a few others and they think it might be the welsh plug. Just have to wait and see. Hopefully its nothing too big. I hardly even drive the car really so pretty pissed off. Its running a complete factory set up. No mods at all besides a 3inch turbo back exhaust.
