hey there people, i was given a drop tank out of a VQ i believe, it is just the tank, so no sender unit, pump or float, am i able to get these items out of another model car and install them so the fuel level registers on my fuel gauge? thanks for any help, hopefully there is an easy way to go about this

anyone? may also be looking into something similar myself at some point..

Haha, since no one else will help... Don't quote me on this but im pretty sure the Drop tank sender has a different float on the sender unit. A drop tank float can be changed onto a normal unit.

you can get these out of any drop tank v8s ranging from vl-vp vr on-wards have a different sender

Oooh, look at Rob, Mr Know-it-all. AFAIK the senders are all the same, only the VN tanks have a five bolt pattern to retain the sender, instead of the VL's 6. AFAIK. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

im amazed so many ppl have drop tanks and not one person has knowledge. Im gonna highjack thread sorry mate. VP V8 tank. VP V8 sender. Will this hook up correctly and work spot on on the VL gauge?
