As i was washing my VL today i noticed just how much you can see the boot seals and just how much water likes to find its way between the rubber and metal, the panels on a VL arent exactly flush and its pretty easy for water (and rust) to get into the boot area. what have you guys done to prevent this? all i've done is waterproof the seals and ive greased the insides of rubbers to prevent water going under them.

you don't have much option. i have dynamatted my bootlid which adds an extra couple of mm and lowered the clip for the boot lock which holds it toghter at the rear and higher at the back sadly. its all in balance. get a good boot rubber and experiment with a hose and someone inside the bootlid. oh and always shammy out the boot drain tunnels after a wash to stop dampness and rust.
