Hey guys, i am currently in the process of hunting down a extra large intercooler for my VL. However havent come across what i am after. I have called a few places and been quoted prices of upto $1500 which is way over the top for me. However i am after the biggest front mount cooler i can fit behind the front bar without having to do chopping etc. I am kool to do abit of trimming etc but not keen on hacking into my car. Further the piping must also be able to be done in a way where no holes are required. So just wondering if anyone knows what size this would?(biggest cooler behind front bar) feel free to chuck a few pics up with extra large intercoolers. And does anyone know if you can modifiy the gktech intercooler piping to suit larger intercooler? i know you can do it for the 600x300x76 size but i am asking for bigger than that. cheers in advance

intercoolers are like tits.........a massive set can be eye catching but it isn't really necessary to get the job done. ....plus people will think you're a freak & look at you funny

haha. I know what you mean. But the car is going to my younger cousin and he is obssessed with them. I am just doing a few mods to it before i give it to him thats all.

Yeah something along the lines of what NZ EVLHSV has posted.

you realise teh pressure drop your gonna see with a massive cooler and the fact that your reaction time will be basically 10 seconds?

Yes i do realise all of that. However i have a few friends with extra large intercoolers and they have had them pressure tested and the only psi drop they have had is 2psi when running 15psi. I think it all depends on the core used. But thanks for the heads up anyway.

Personally I think 2psi is a big drop when your only running 15pound.

Just chuck a 600x300x80 cooler on mate. Make it look nice and neat. Then your cousin will have all the sickness/hectikness he can handle. Something like this would do

Kool thanks for that mate.

You're probably aware, but usually wider equals thicker. If you want to run air conditioning, you'll need to buy a thinner aftermarket thermo/auxillary fan. That said, the wider intercoolers are going to foul on the bumper reo, unless you move factory bits out of the way to push it further back.

Yeah i know, i will have to make some modifications in order to make it fit. The coolers i have a both 1100x230x70 so shouldnt be too bad.
