Hey guys, ive seen a lot of the fibre glass calais fronts floating around and was wondering if anyone knows if they are illegal as the eye lids dont actually pop up...is this illegal as io got a few mates who purposely disconnect the motors so they dont pop up....just curious if anyone knows if this is illegal in Vic
cheers guys
id say its illegal..Because its not shining the full amount of light into the road.. But i had mine D/c because i dont like the idea of water getting down behind my eye lids.. Ive heard of people getting rust from having there popups working.

firstly its not really nice to come here be for just over a month and start calling other members idiots
secondly, yes water is a contributor to rust, BUT water will drain away quite quickly, and not be a problem, the MAJOR reason why cars rust isnt because of the rain, its because of CONSTANT moisture. Leaves and dirt will retain the moisture for much longer therefor aid the rusting process. leaves and dirt will stop the water running down the channels and they will hold it.

Mate I've been on these forums for a long time. I've just created a new user name cause I forgot the password for my old one and my old one kinda sucked.
Never-the-less, since when was membership periods directly related to the amount of knowledge one posseses? I understand where your coming from, wet leaves and dirt and what-not do cause rust.

All I was saying in response to this comment, is that water does cause rust, and then he goes on to say that water only makes a **** box rust. wtf?? His first statement contradicts the last part of the sentence. But anyway I'm sorry for whoring up the original posters thread. Just trying to create a little understanding around here.
Is this a rust post? As soon as the paint deteriorates it thins out and the moisture causes rust, you dont have to be a scientist, just squirt some paint under there.
If you run up the back of someone at night I bet you a hundred bucks the insurance assesor will knock you back if your headlights were partially concealed, the risk is yours.
I think the main point to be made after all the abuse is that having your lights flip up during rain will not cause rust! I've never heard of anyones VL Calais rusting out in the front, if it is it'll due to poor drainage and paint missing... can we now delete this thread....
