I have a couple of questions regarding tranny coolers... I'm more interested in the high performance cars (300rwkw+) but we might as well make a thread of it for everyone. So post up what transmission you are running, your stall speed, hp the car is making and what type of transmission cooler you have + cost etc... I'm running a 550kw transbrake jatco and I now have to find a new tranny cooler to suit and to be honest I've never had to purchase one on it's own before lol. I did have a huge TCE one that came with my box but, amongst other parts went missing when my car was being pulled apart.... Basically I want to know what size, brand and type I should be running, I will be using a 3500-3800 converter and let's just say I'm a bit transbrake happy so I want to get something that may be a little overkill for my box as piece of mind. Also what prices we would be looking at. Also post pics up of your installation and where it is mounted for everyone to see. cheers brad Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If I can sell the shell for what I want I'll let it go, if not I'll finish it and sell it once it's done.

car. vl turbo berlina power- 400rwhp tranny- rebuilt and strengthed jadco. stally- tce 3500rpm tranny cooler- B&M on the average size. I don't do a lot of city driving so i imagine if your on the stall convertor a lot and using a transbrake a big B&M or another reputable brand would be the best.

Auto: TH350, full manual Convertor: TCE 5100rpm HP: 470 Trans Cooler: Derale. This thing is huge. Cruising the car around the thing is on 3-4000rpm most of the time (cruising) and it gets a bit of a work out too. Theyre great, only $150-$170 and Ive been told far better than B&M (no offence to those that use them) just what engine builders / auto builders have recommended.

fair enough seems to handle 700rwhp on a gearbox with transbrake with no issues and while the car aint moving the oil still circulates in the cooler and the thermo fan is cooling the oil while yours will still heat up if the car aint moving.....

Here's mine: Quote: Hi-Tek Automatic Transmission Cooling System 13-1/2"x9"x3-1/2" with 9-1/2" diameter fan * Fin and plate cooler construction * Includes 12 volt high flow fan * Pressure tested to 200psi * Units include 1/2 NPT fittings & thermal switch * Easily adaptable to steel braided lines [IMG] [/IMG] The newest addition to B&M's line of SuperCooler fluid coolers is the Hi-Tek cooling system. Fitted with a high quality 12 volt electric fan and built-in mounting brackets, these coolers handle tough cooling jobs. They include a thermal switch to activate the fan when the fluid temperature reaches 175 degrees F. Can be used for racing, RV and street performance vehicles. Suitable for all fluid cooling needs including: automatic transmission fluid, engine oil, differential fluid, power steering and tubrocharger oil in circle track, road racing, off-road, tractor pulling and monster truck applications. The bigger the better, but the bigger and better they are the more expensive they are. But when you are shelling out big dollars for an auto, why go cheap on something like this? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

define huge. i also have a question to any one that may no the answer... whe you fit a tranny cooler of decent size you would have to add more tranny fluid wouldent you?... to make sure the box still has enugh and so the cooler is full?... is that correct coz i have been thinkin about it for a little while and was it more expencive from speed parts brett?

Derale are sold by Bursons. We've used them on a few cars, never had a problem with one! They are excellent value for money!
