thought ide start a thread on the rebuild of my factory VL Calais V8 Wagon.
i bought it about 4 years ago now, completely standard, on gas. i bought it with the full intension of rebuilding it, so after about 8 months of owning it i pulled it apart ready for paint.
the interior is all standard series 2 calais grey interior, in extremely good original condition.
it will be running a mild 185i injected V8 from a VP, with a manualised th350 and a standard VL 28 spline LSD.
i have relocated the fusebox to the glovebox, heater and aircon boxes have been removed from under the dash to hide alot of things. an electric demister is fitted so i wont ahve any issues with a rwc.
after about a year! it was finally painted
so i got it home, and began the task of reassembly;

had its first bath! to make sure there was no water leaks.
moving house...
finished off the centre console
now as it sits today, after 18 months of being painted some filler in the engine bay decided to bleed through . so i removed the front end, now am awaiting it to be repainted.
luckily its only the engine bay!

that is an awesome wagon i cannot believe i haven't seen it floating around this site before. just noticed 1 thing though. the air vent surrounds are black in an s2 they should be dash coloured its personal prefference but i thinks this makes the finishing touch in any vl !
