after i sold my vortech supercharger kit ive been frofing over turbo v8s, but im a bit new to turbos so i just need a bit more info and also some pics of setups ppl have built
lol please dont laugh at some of the questions im a turbo noob
1.what is the best material for a manifold to be made out of
2.when making a manifold can it only suit one size turbo or can u bolt on a variety of differents brands/sizes?
if i can find someone who can fabricate me a couple of manifolds i can get my cousin who is a mechanic to do the rest
anyone know fabricators who have made manifolds for turbo 304's, i have a mate with a twin turbo 5L but just want some more info on other peoplel's builds

lol yeh im bad, theres no point selling it ive spent that much on it already plus its getting harder to sell v8s these days and trying to get good $$$$ for them
thanks EVLHSV ill shoot him a pm
just got off the phone to ezy10s, sounds like he knows his stuff he gave me a ballpark figure of what a set of manifolds are worth so ill try a few places down here in vic

me and my brother knocked up a set of manifolds in a couple of days, weren't the prettiest things ever but only cost us about $250 all up.
heres a pic of them on my engine with a holset h2c turbo and trust 45mm wastegate.
i never ran the setup but it woulda made some pretty decent numbers i reckon

22-07-08, 09:45 GMT+10#10 thanks guys but i have found a set-up and it will be in my hands within two or three weeks, ive bought my mates entire twin turbo setup including fuel pump, injectors, intercooler and piping, computor, manifolds and it is externally wastegatted lol it made 250rwkw on an unopened motor on olnly 6 psi, plus hes throwing in a cam and rockers, hopefully it should all be ready by november
what r u doing to your stato ricky

22-07-08, 09:52 GMT+10#11 Sounds cool, but 250rwkw isn't much for a twin turbo setup... even on a stock 5L

22-07-08, 16:35 GMT+10#13 EVLHSV- when it was dyno tuned it was only on 6psi, did'nt want to push it to hard with out roller rockers and valve springs plus the auto was was'nt the best
i will be installing a head stud kit, roller rockers, new valve springs and a cam (not sure of the specs yet) the turbos ar'nt that big but they can handle up to about 550hp so they were no where near there limit
with the cam and headwork and upping the boost to 10psi it should give a few people a bit of a surprise

22-07-08, 19:21 GMT+10#17 lol yeh ur street is f ucked jake hahaha
honestly ricky i would'nt waste my time with a stroker just de-comp it and throw a blower on it it will probably cost u less and make more power and wont be a pig to drive
those cheap come racing kits are **** they are made in china i know heaps of engine buiilders who refuse to work with them, the cranks take forever to balance and u never get them perfect and those hypertumatic pistons or whatever they are called are also junk i would stay as far away from that stuff as posible

If you know heaps of engine builders who refuse to work with them, give me names and numbers?
I used a COME crank in my engine that I built just recently and when it was balanced there was not 1 drama whatsoever and certainly no grief from the machinist.
My mates VR uses the same crank and runs 10.30's at 130+mph pulling high rpm, the crank is fine? Who are you getting this info from?
If you are going to go to the extent of tarnishing a business' reputation, at least have proof to back it up and at the very least know what you are talking about, I have never heard of a hypertumatic piston in my life!
Maybe you are mistaking the quality of COME cranks with EAGLE cranks. Good luck to all you people who buy one of those nasties and realise the spigot is to small for the snout of the converter.
See the difference between FACT and HERSAY?

I agree, Mates motor Has A COME Crank, Made 460hp on Engine Dyno and has run consistent 11.7-11.8 's in a manual VN.
