Fair enough mate, ive owned a VN calais but not a vr or vs so you would be a better judge of that, Ive been in heaps of vr's and vs's though.
Good luck with it!

21-07-08, 17:27 GMT+10#11 depends how much of the conversion you can do yourself, and how much access you have to the parts you need to do the job. To make the first part is easy depending if you are good at fabrication or is the engine mounts, if you buy the castle main setup, $300 for the engine mounts, then you need a v8 k frame cause that is what the kit is based off, then you need all the other gear to go with it, right hand side starter motor conversion, bell housing ect ect.....which is all custom made products made by crs
OR
you can just cut and reweld the mounts for the stering rack and off-set it by 1inch to the left, this gives enough room to use the standard starter motor setup, bell housing and 4l60e if you wish to use that auto.
personally if i was going to do it this is how i would go about it
ls1/ls6 engine
wiringing loom
standard ecu
castle main rod shop engine mounts ( only if cbf making your own)
gen3 is turbo pattern so your just not limited to the 4l60e which i think is a waste of time and money anyway so you can use Turbo350, 400, 700 or powerglide which you will find will be a nice setup and you will find a lot more autos cheaper and built stronger for the price.
custom tail shaft
loom has to have all relay's and fuse placed back into it for fuel ignition ect,
you can use a standard loom and chop it up to suit or perless wiring making a kit which is around $600us off jegs
computer allso needs to have an edit to turn off the VAT unless you use the same key and barrel of which the engine come out of so it starts
other than that it is very easy, and bang for the buck in a vn it would fly with all the normal mods, cam, edit exhaust ect

thanks for your help mate, so what your saying is if i have for example a comlpete vt s2 gen3, the only parts that i would really need to but would be the rngine mount kit and the bellhousing, starter motor conversion, custom tailshaft and maybe wiring loom.
