G'day lads, I posted this in the members section but didn't get much feedback so I thaught I'd try here Is anyone running any type of water/meth or just water injection? Whats your setup? Found this site the other night, I'm going to run the bad boy kit in the vl for 25psi pump fuel tunes http://www.snowperformance.net What do you all think? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Whats your point in using it? To run more boost, timing etc on the street and get more out of it or simply as a safety margin type of thing?

rob or 0bt100 uses it as well.

Primarily I want to run around 25psi on pump fuel, I know it can be done without the meth/water but I'd just feel a bit better having it as assurance. So a bit of both really. Also just for something a bit different, it's something you don't see every day.

I ran 26psi all the time, did plug checks every 2 weeks and there where heaps of room to go over 30psi, but it was pretty strong power already The only thing you need is a a CDI ignition system so you can run over 20+ percent water/air fuel ratio to run big boost and then 98 octane fuel all of a sudden has a 116 octane rating .Pretty much the sole reason you use methanol in a system is because of poor spark or lack of spark( water is denser and harder to fire than methanol) Water supresses detonation best so you can run more boost with it. Injecting water in front of the compressor also makes it articially flow at least another 10 percent compressor flow, you pick up a fair bit of power just doing that. The wearing out the compressor comes from using only water atomisers, peter(rice racing) and mine used water/air atomisers and peters are recalibrated now aswell by him to make the spray finer( think he has it down to 5 microns) Snow performance are **** and pumps have been known to **** up alot in states, so there goes your motor, coolingmist or aquamist are the 2 best pump systems. But after getting petes advice over the last year my system now mirrors his for my new motor. I would personally just buy a kit of him and be done with it. I have a kit on my mates vl, Rb30, tighe cam, 3540 .82 it is all ready to go and should have been finished 6 months ago..26psi is the starting point..I also have a kit on my brothers gemini with a Gt3040 .82 etc which should be running in a couple of months. It is the BEST thing EVER for turbo cars on pump fuel. i went from 370rwkw without out it on 23psi to 470rwkw on 26psi with it and ran nearly 141mph with 20rwkw less power than that. You would PISS in 130++mph with a 3540 setup on pump fuel Just one bit of advice, you want some et streets to go with the water injection or don't bother putting it on cheers darren Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I stumbled across this, might be some interesting reading for anyone considering water injection http://www.streetcommodores.com/imag...102%20POWR.pdf (http://www.streetcommodores.com/images/tech/PDF/099-102%20POWR.pdf)

Methanol is where it's at. I can't belive alot of other people don't acutaly use it. I run a a real backyard setup on my vl, it makes 366rwkw on pump fuel/methanol on 24 psi on a n/a bottom end.

So your going to race it mainly on pump fuel? Not worry about race fuel?

The cost of water is much much less than c16 not just for that though, I'm bored of seeing the same setups day in day out, rb30 with a gt35 so I wouldn't mind doing something that hasn't been done so much for a change Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
