G'day, My sister owns a 1998 VT Calais, recently her head unit (radio) stopped working, we checked all of the fuses and they aren't blown, today I decided to pull the interior apart to check the fuse behind the head unit (if there is one?), and I'm getting no luck trying to get the head unit out, I've unscrewed everything, it just won't budge, if anyone has any knowledge on VT Calais' Radios and know how to get them out that would be great, or if you've had a similar issue with your radio, what was it? Here are some pictures of the interior so far: http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?i...2008019yr5.jpg (http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=17072008019yr5.jpg) http://img362.imageshack.us/my.php?i...2008021dq2.jpg (http://img362.imageshack.us/my.php?image=17072008021dq2.jpg) All help is appreciated. Cheers, Chris

what you do is get the radio removal tools from bursons etc for $10, just basically 2 u shaped pieces of hardened wire that press into the front release holes. or alternatively, get 4 small jewellers screwdrivers and poke one in each hole on the front of the radio to release the internal release tangs and pull the unit out, just need to keep the screwdrivers all in, so all tangs are released. no need to remove any of the dash.

Yeah I realized there was an easier way to remove it after I had basically removed the whole interior. Cheers mate.

Any suggestions at all? It's not for me, it's for my sister, and I had promised to get it working for her, she really can't survive without music. :P

Plus, that's partially the problem, I want to know how to remove the Radio, not how to fix it. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
