VLs were never built with an intercooler, a "factory boost guage", or any special kind of close ratio steering.
Its just another VLCT with rust.

apparently this 1 was ordered from holden like that, maybe CORSA can clear it up

It looks pretty legit, it could have just been fitted straight after they took ownership not by holden

the dealership may have fitted it to aid in it selling easier.

looks like a stage 1 AVO cooler to me,, minus the AVO crossover.. DEFFINATLY not factory..
the grill on the standard crossover is "suppose" to act like a factory intercooler

its either dealer optioned or era built but whatever the case i think we have established that it isn't a gm factory car.

17-07-08, 19:33 GMT+10#11 The word 'factory' gets used a lot. That car was built at the Elizabeth plant in Adelaide and i'm willing to bet that the intercooler was fitted in Melbourne but not in Holden's factory there.
As for the wing and rims, items like these could be bought from HDT during the late 87-88 period or could have just been swapped from other HDT models that Holden had in their possession.

i agree and the guage is autometer so not genuine looks like it was sold by holden but i have done mods to ford owned cars that got sold by ford with the mod in my case the company car was boring so we tuned it and the tune got sold with the car!!!
