Hey guys, Hoping you might be able to help me out with an issue with my car. Usually we're pretty good at figuring out what's gone wrong but this has got me a bit stumped. About 2 weeks ago, my car started randomly hesitating on acceleration whilst driving to work. One day it stopped completely (stranding me in traffic) - turned out to be the plug on the passenger side of the coil (which I understand is the loom) being loose. Being apart of the loom I was told that I can't get a replacement, so a mate (who is a mechanic) hard wired it in for me. That was about a week ago. At the start of this week, the car was playing up again, and I thought it might have been the air flow meter - its the only typical VL thing I haven't had to replace. On closer inspection the air piping that goes over the rocker cover was loose (read: falling off), so tightened that up, and also gave the panel filter (K&N) a clean and reoil. All this week the car has been idling really really low. Even when the car is warm. Sometimes when stopped at traffic lights, I have to keep my foot on the accelerator to stop the car from stalling. Any bright ideas?

pretty sure thats a fuse of some sort that ur talking bout. my cuz, ct2s2 sabo had the same dramas with his, then one day wouldnt start had an auto elec come along n fix it finally who said it was only the 2nd one he'd seen in 20 years burn out, not a common problem, so it isnt frequently diagnosed. maybe replace it u can find a spare?

I had the same problem. Car kept turning off on me on cold mornings. Turned out that i had a crack in the casing of the ignition coil. I was told by my mechanic that the moisture in the air was causing the coil to short out. Anyways got the coil replaced and hasnt happened since.
