I iz new here and just wanted to introduce the car and I
...5 years later she is back on the road... Just got the certification plate last week for:
9" LSD (shortened 20mm to run better wheel/tyre combos)
Borg Warner T5 from a VR/VP V8
304 V8.. was the 3L originally.
Bucket seats perminantly borrowed from Kelvin.
Momo wheel.
Riding on Whiteline superlow springs and heavyduty swaybars.
17" ROH furys with 225 45 falken tyres (nice in the wet!!)
That's all on the plate but of course there is a hell of a more to it than that.
Got a few tricks for things on the car, like making real nice drive shaft safety loops, adapting factory VL stereo wiring to ISO making it piss easy to change the stereo in future so if there are any questions or requests for pictures just let me know and I'm always more than happy to help out.
Is the GTS red or white? Post up some pics so we can see how it's sitting.
And hopefully we see it on a cruise soon

I've only seen your car on the road twice, first time I barely got a glimpse and the other time you pulled out of Sartors or something like that and I followed you til you turned off for Albany. Have you got it running properly again yet?
I see hardly any VLs around, and the ones I do see are fuuucked. If your GTS is white I 'might' have seen it.. never seen a red one on the road.

It's red... well mostly, the Group A front and rear are primer again. 304 carburetted, Barry Grant 650 Mighty Demon.
From Glenfield, there's a wicked blue turbo Calais that lives just down the road from me too.

That's a fancy dash cluster! You'll need to come to a cruise so we can see it properly I'm assuming it was pricey, it looks it.

As mentioned a few times that dash does look pretty flash!! Would like to see some pics of it in day light tho.
Another quick question - where did you get the PCV valve and the rocker cover breather from??

87Calais - Shore performance on Wairau Road has most of that stuff on the shelf and they are quick at getting it in if they don't, sometimes saves driving to Performance Parts in Takanini.
The dash is beautiful, you can program it to do pretty much anything, I have it switch on the radiator fan when the engine gets to 80degrees and switch on the fuel pump only when it's getting RPM signal. But they are pretty much limitless.
The first day I owned the car, about seven years ago now, completely mint.
With bodykit, pre-rebuild and lowering.

Yea, i haven't had very good service from Shore Performance. I wanted a fuel line adaptor for the my Holley Street Avenger Carb and being the Holley specialists i rang them. They told me they had such an item but when i went there during my work lunch break they told me they didn't have one. I said i specifically asked you if you had one and you said yes - now 3 hours later i come down to collect it and your telling me you don't have it? There response was oh well i thought we did or something like that.
Needless to say having wasted my whole lunchtime and still didn't get it - not happy. Also they were gonna sell me the wrong PCV valve - I insisted i checked if it fit before i got it and funnily enough it didn't!
Perhaps i just dealt with a new person... or perhaps i just had a few bad experiences. Is there someone in particular you deal with there?
I might actually give them a call tomorrow.
Also... that dash sounds fantastic - is there anything it cant do?!?! Do you have a photo of it in daylight??
The car looks really tidy - especially in the bottom pic. I'd be keen to see an up to date pic of it or maybe even see it in the flesh.
