Is it possible to remove the turbo will the engine is still in the bay? I need to replace the turbo gasket and I'm staring at it and wandering jsut how the hell I'm going to do it without taking the engine out... It doesnt quite look like you have room to get a spanner or ratchet in anywhere. can anyone give me some pointers?

u don't need to take the engine out, easiest way is to remove all the piping and heat shields outta the way, and take the manifold off with the turbo. Or pay a shop around $150 to remove and refit the turbo.

Cheap spanners, and dont be shy to bend the fuckers. Also some sockets, pull the exhaust manifold off, then turbo from that. There are really only 3 nuts that are hard to get to, make sure when you put it all back on the hard to get to nuts are tight and not just the spanner hitting and not turning any tighter or you will have to have all that fun again.

Or you could simply buy a high mount manifold for ease of maintenance, but then you get more reamed by the popo Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

God just take the exhaust manifold off, quickest and easiest way if the turbo hasnt been removed for yrs then they tend to snap anyway.
