Yeh im instrusted in this too, have to fix the dam rust in the windscreen. I spoke to a mate that owns a novis windscreen joint but they just use the stuff that comes on the roll and join it. Im thinking of giving Holden a call and see if you can get a factory one from a S2 VT. You also have to bog or solder the existing holes at the top each side of the windscreen from the standard plastic moldings.

They are a good idea because the rubber is soft and seals better, make sure you ask the windscreen guy to pack in the black urethene so there is no air gaps for moisture.

It is called a universal seal.

Universal seal, not as wide as the VT seal, and goes right around the windscreen. Fits great, can easily see how it stops water getting in down the sided where the factory trim plastic does nothing. Does take away from the original look but you get used to it, and I'm sure if you tried you could adapt the factory side trims to fit if you wanted to. Mine were too damaged to bother.

Once its on they are barely noticeable and help clean up the front end fairly well Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah they don't stand out that much, especially on the darker coloured cars. Love Kalais6, my fave VL at the moment, got a shot of it as my wallpaper at work.

hey iam getting this done soon front screen is out atm and getting rust reapaired. is it nessacery to remove the headlining to weld the 2 small holes in the roof?? panel beater is concerned the headlining may catch fire or get burned.

We didnt do it with mine, but if I did it again I would have done it.

I wasn't going to do it but my panelbeater highly recommended it. There's another calais I see sometimes around work that has had it done, went and checked it out and was sold on the idea. That and the fact the last VL I had done lasted 8 months before the visible signs of rust started showing again, although they stuffed around with the windscreen on tha so it probably didn't help.
