Gday, i going to rebuild my Vs 304 but dont know what parts to use. i want to get around the 180rwkw, i was thinking about stroking it but the price of fuel is unreal and this car will be used as a daily driver. Whats the ACL race seris rebuild kit like? I know the pistons are DOG BULLS in it, but what are the other parts like? what price am i looking at to get to the 180rwkw mark? cheerss.

It all depends on what you want to achieve mate, you want a quick, reliable car that is cheapish to run... i guess My opinion is save to money on the race rebuild kit, rebuild it to stock(factory spec) and buy the HSV chip. you'll find the car runs sh!t loads better and more economic... Because you'll find it hard to get the rite balance with what you suggested.

Rebuild it to standard specs with the exception of a cam, head work and custom tune. Auto or manual will depend on what cam you go for, but don't go too wild on a daily driver. 180rwkw shouldn't be too hard to achieve An HSV chip wont do shit === Have a read of this thread for other opinions http://calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=140651

Thanks for the info. how much would it cost to rebuild it to standard specs? would use suggest a harrop inlet manifold? Plus they look unreal with the high rise sticking out of the bonnet. The car is manual, its a Vs Ute spac. i would like a mean idle, what would be the best cam to go? cheerss

acl rebuild kit, 10:1 comp, 286 cam, light headwork, nice set of extractors with a decent exhaust and a good tune will see that. no real need for new manifold yet until you want to push more power outta it.

Thanks mate that helps me heaps. Ive already got a TWIN 2.5 exhaust and a set of pacemaker extractors would they do the job? if i could push more power at a resonable price then im all for it. how much would a HARROP high rise manifold put me back? and what sort of powers gains would i expect cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
