Hey guys
i ve got a turbs calais with 350rwkw and im after a clutch to go with it and to withstand some abuse.
ive prices some exedy twin plate ceramic ones for around $2300 im not to sure if i want to spend that much on a cluth.
at the moment i have a 5 puck button in the car but it's slipping when i decide i want to do some burnouts, but normal driving its ok.
Anyone know of any single/twin plate clutches that may be the go with around that sort of power figure but not that price?
any info would be helpfull.
im not real up to date on the old clutch sort of thing
ta
If your not going to be running slicks and dont wanna go a twin plate setup($$) I'd would go a Heavy duty Full face organic clutch disk with a modified pressure plate.
10" Turbo pressure plate can be bought up to 2400lb's of clamping force from 500lb's
9.5" NA pressure plate clamping pressure can be bought up to 3000lb's before you have trouble with it releasing.
Also you can use the better spring out of the 9.5" in the 10" pressure plate giving you a 10" 3000lb pressure plate, but you have to purchase 2 standard pressure plates.
What flywheel/gearbox are you using?

Alot of people have used Jim Berry clutches and have all said they are awesome and not too expensive. Give Jim a call 07 3847 9999
Personally I found Jim Berry pritty expensive for what he does and was able to get the same thing done for half the price at a local shop, but hes a top guy and knows what he's talking about.

A twin plate setup will set u back around that brand new.
I recommend an Excedy twin plate clutch. I have one in my vlct at the moment it is awesome, never slips or anything. But as you said they are tad expensive.
Jacko
^^ Do you mind me asking what is set you back
Twin plates setup is defently the go if you can afford it.
I forgot to mention all so, Dont let the ceramic clutch in the car at the moment slip to much as it will distroy your flywheel and if you have to machine the flywheel alot make sure they machine where the pressure plate bolts down aswel.
A good thing with twin plates is they are not very expensive to rebuilt generally. I think my friend got new friction plates & a reface on his pressure plate and flywheel for around $600 -- he paid about $700 for a 2nd hand twin plate. Im thinking about trying to get a twin plate 2nd hand myself. Im not going to mortage the house for one thats for sure.
