Well i've been on this site for a few years and thought I may aswell put my vl up for others to see and give me feedback. Ive had this vl for around a month or two and its my second one as my first was stolen by scumbags. I was originally looking for a vlt but theres not many in the condition I liked in sa and especially for my price range so I stumbled across this and decided to grab the n/a and spend the left over money on mods. its an 87' maroon executive and I am the second owner since new with all the log books, stock everything including tape deck with just over 200,000kms This is how i picked it up... As you can see its extremely clean and I thought would be a good base for a turbo conversion. I brought the car home and decided I wasnt a fan of the exec tail lights so grabbed some new tail lights, which I think make the car look a lot cleaner but camera phone photo's dont do it justice. I also got the car lowered on super low king springs, and chucked a set of chasers on and this is how it sits atm... I also bought a set of VY SS 18" rims, Which i'll have on soon but they need tyres and i picked up mint berlina door trims (just need a clean) and new glove box from U-PULL-IT for $50 Car is also booked in to get a 2 1/4 exhaust with either 3" or 3 1/2" dump tip tomorrow. Hopefully car will be looking half decent for the top gear cruise on 19th of july which is very soon. Future mods: - Respray in same colour and remove badges - Berlina Interior (already has Berlina dash) - Full turbo conversion Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Nice car champ, Mine's got the same colour aswell. For the interior I would only get a sunnies holder and a high-rise console, everything else is already there like the Tacho dash but you said you wanted a Berlina interior so yeah, upto you. If you're gonna re-spray it then re-place the badges after. Yours has the Berlina mould stripes aswell. Maybe you can later get new headlights. Apart from that it looks clean inside and out. Nice find.

Thanks, yeh i'll get new head lights soon. my plans are to get the car looking clean before i start any serious mods like turbo conversion etc. im in the look out for a high rise console and sunny holder so if anyone has one in sa send me a pm.

this car looks very similar to my berlina, are you happy with how low it came?

The height is ok, but the rear does sit a fair bit higher then the front but i've removed the rear bump stops so its abit lower in the rear. I'm going to get ultras in the rear soon so i can put the bump stops back in and when its got 18's i guess the whole car will be lifted abit higher off the ground so it shouldnt bottom out too much.

looks good and some awesome pickups there i like where this is going! (rims and door trims) certainly look at some bits and pieces for the interior. calais interior light sunnies holder highrise and a few little things will make it run better eg sparks leads and a good service (engine and auto tranny oil, brake fluid oil filter coolant rarara) btw check my garage sale if you are keen on some parts i will sort you out with a cheaper price

the tail lights make it look a 100% nicer are they vk berlina?

Yeh they are vk berlina tail lights, i like the look of having all black around them instead of the grey like vl berlina's.... Just got my new exhaust put on today, its nothing special just a 2 1/4" cat back with 3 1/2" dump tip.... car is really dirty as its been raining and also photo's are from my phone. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

im not quite sure man, i think it was around $30 or so... i bought it from the same place who done my exhaust (carline) so it was just part of the price.

ok well the car looks nice man should look great with the vy ss rims. ill probably see ya on the top gear cruise.
