Even if you got your licence before 01/07/07, if the copper who pull's you over says in his opinion that the power to weight / capacity to weight isn't aloud for P plates, then thats it - you could tell them why it isn't till your blue in the face, unless you want to fight it in court you pretty much gotta take it...

According to older power to weight/capacity to weight ratios, I'd say your VT SS would still be over. At least a series two/Gen III would.

u can have a vt ss 5litre on ur ps!!! back when iw as at high school a kid did.. had no problems.. cops used to pull him over and so fourth!!! cos the power to weight with just a 5 litre is different compared to a 5.7 litre!

If you got your licence after 1/7/07 you cannot drive any vt ss's series 1 5.0L V8 and SC6 or series 2 5.7L V8 as previously stated. If you got your licence before the 1/7/07 you can drive a vt ss but only if it is a SC6 or a 5.0L V8. Even if you got your P's before the 1/7/07 you cannot drive any 5.7L V8's and any cop who tells you otherwise is wrong. And Dazza102 you can drive any 5.0L V8's if you got your P's prior to the 1/7/07. I got done for it and followed it up, all I had to do was write a letter to Snr Sergeant Richie with all the facts and the fine was immediately revoked.

No mate, its based upon power to weight and capacity to weight. If the car you drive has more than 125 flywheel kilowatts per tonne, you can't drive it. If your car has more than 3.5L per tonne, you can't drive it. VLT (stock) = 125Kw/tonne exactly, less than 3.5L/tonne VN V8 (stock) = over

VT 5ltr are the heaviest 5ltr commo made. they are legal on power to weight , providing you got your licence before 01/07/07
