Hey guys, I dont know if im doing this in the write area but feel free to move the thread if its not. Ok guys, I purchased a orginal factory series 2 calais turbo few months back and since I brought it ive had some great ideas to have it running 11's but then I thought should I ? Its only ever done 138,000ks on the genuine motor, its fully equiped with every factory feature except I had to reco the auto because it was slipping 2nd gear. The other only downfall would be I put a 3inch exhaust on it but its nothing too hoon or muzza. It's just getting a resprey and I purchased a full set of new calais badges off rarespares.com. My interior is immaculate with no hole or rips. It's on pro polished calais rims and there is 5 of them including one for a spare. If i was to sell this to an enthuist, how much should I be getting offered seriously ? And what should I do ? Sell to a genuine lover of vl's who love them how they came or slap cooler and new turbo on it and give it a new lease on life ? Please anybody, leave suggestions and feedback. Please no insults or stupid remarks because only people with no balls offend others on the net lol. Cheers (P.S - i'll get pix up as soon as i can, sorry)
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

well i have the money but for its age and its life i thought maybe somebody can appriciate it for what it is instead of me creating something new out of it. i mean i was speaking to a few a people and a few mentioned for its rareness i could sell for a good $10,000 + ? so it confuses me on should i be destroying something beautiful such as low k's on a orginal block and shell plus all the factory goodies.

Well if you cant let it go, don't. You have obviously obtained a nice vehicle at a good price. If you sell it to make a quick buck, your profit will be short term. If you hold onto it and do what you originally planned you will have long term satisfaction. Doesnt matter how deep your pockets are, you will always find a way.

thanks for the advice brother much appriciated.
im selling something similar, wanting 12 for it. but realisticaly looks like ill probably be keeping it. (due to me making more $ and nobody is realy interested in it). kinda hoping i might move away for a while come home and find it's worth 15k or something.
keep in mind i'm in wa so there are less nice vls over here.
keep it nice stock and original... it will only grow as an investment....if u have the money to do mods to it why not buy another project VL.. id rather do that than ruin an original turbo... there so rare... sell that in 5 yrs... coz in 5 yrs no original un touched vls will be around
my 2 cents

cheers for the input bloke
anymore thoughts on the idea ?
its a vl...
dont bother keeping it as an investment, they're not exactly rare even when they are mint, if you had a hdt different story...
you can find mint examples now (keeping in mind they're already 20 years old) and they only go for around 10gs coz no one is gonna be spendin more then that on a standard vlt when they can but one for around 8 have it resprayed n its mint anyway
just my thoughts
dude it seems like u bought it for 5k and ur trying to slel it for 10k+ i honestly think you got no chance cause the market is dead, you wanna mod it then go do it! pics will help determine the price
hey guys my photobuckets being a bit queer. i got some pix on myspace if you wanna check them out. www.myspace.com/cury4u (http://www.myspace.com/cury4u) (they bit old, got these old dodgy wheels that were on them but they gone now haha) ill load some up soon as i can. cheers
Looks nice. Imperial blue is gorgeous. I expected it to have a sunroof though.
Your MySpace says it makes "that stupid muzza sound"... I'm assuming it doses? In which case it has/had a cooler, plus the three inch exhaust, so it's not completely 'stock'.
Like I said in my PM, something like your car, in good running condition and looking neat and tidy, might sell for up to $8000 - $10,000, Sydney prices, less in Victoria.
