Hello Calais Turbo! , I currently Own a VL Berlina! - i got it off my Mate a while ago! and it was the Pits rust to the max and everything! - and i have done it up to look like this! and put grpa body kit on it.!. I also knew my Mate either Blew a Head on his Engine or a Gasket because the oil was like Milkshake ( not good ) - so i have started working on the Engine pulled the Rocker off and inspected it and and gave it a good hot wash at my uncles Gararge! - and then i decided to check the head and nothing seems to be wrong with the head gave that a wipe down and shimmied and shined it up! - but i noticed when i drove it back there ( hence un roadworthy // unregister ). the Car cut out as in ( engine cut out ) lifted the bonnet and the Carbi was iced over! u could literally see ice on the Carbi... does this mean there is a cooling problem or what .... ill post pictures up of what i have done! . Head Head Cleaned Can u please Give me some advice if its a cooling problem do i replace the Carbi and just then take the sump plug out and dump all the oil and then fill with oil again!.... ?? .... also the rocker's where in perfect working order inspected them and nothing wrong with them! ... but i did see in where is says ( radiator coolant reservoir ) - ( it was filed with water ) might that have something to do with the Carbi Freezing Over? - Please Get back to me ASAP! Cheers! vlturbo08 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah, wtf. You probably aren't getting any coolant through the throttle body. Please stop using exclamation marks, I feel like I'm buying computer parts from Hong Kong.

Hello, Firstly, the photograhps you have posted up, are not the head, they are the lifter cradles, the big large thing they bolt up to is the head seconldy, you said the "carby" is freezing over, can you put up a photo of it? is the vehicle on gas? if it is, you may have mistaken the gas converter as a carby. when you refilled the water did you bleed teh air out of the system? this is EXTREAMLY CRITICAL there are ways on how to do it, just do a search on the top rightof the page, there is a search thing, use it to find out howto bleed the coolan system.

Good point Mad Wog. If the system wasn't bled its possible you have cracked/ warped the head.

well dosnt a carburetor and a throttle body both have a flap inside that opens up and lets air through? only thing that the carburetor has fuel jets inside and sprays fuel in too......its pretty much the same sh!t apart from the fuel delivry system.....
