Ive just built up a 25/30 and currently have twin T3/T4s on it.
Ive spoken to kyle (6boost) and he has given me a few ideas.
GT42 or GT45
What do people think would be the better choice???
I have a C4 with 3800 stall and a 100-175hp nos kit yet to be fitted. It will see some use on the streets and lots of drag racing.
Is there any other options???
Cheers
Sounds like a nice combo already, But kyle knows his stuff so I'd be listening to what he has to say.
GT42 is big

Gt42 will provide some good on street driveability, because you can drive it off boost alot of the time. But the injectors you will need to utilise will throw that theory out the door. But if you want something a bit more streetable then maybe a t04z, Depends what sort of power your looking for make I spose
At the moment im running 1000cc injectors.
As for power im not really sure, depends how it goes at 25psi.

Not correct, you would only need 700cc injectors for that turbo, and the
Sard ones tune up killer, be as good as standard.
Try a Gt4294 with a .91 housing, or what about the Mr.turbo 70mm/S trim/.96 to4 housing?? bit more pricey though
street/drag/ both, whats direction is your compromise?
cheers
darren
I want something for both but it doesnt get driven much on the street as i want to keep my licence. lol
So will be more for drags.
How does a T51r SPL compare to the Gt4294??

this makes no sense. why would you just wind up boost until you hit 25psi then see how much power it makes? surely you have a 'target' power level that you are aiming for?
my rule of thumb is to figure out how much power you want at the crank, then add 10-15% and get a turbo rated at that number. some web research will reveal if that "700hp" turbo can actually make that number or if it's really only capable of 600 for example.

complety different, gt4294 uses a compressor wheel in the t51r kai size
and a s trim rear, spl has a 76mm front wheel and old school ta45 rear wheel apparently. t51r spl would be a horrible laggy pos. Better to probally get a mr.turbo 76/s trim/.96 housing if you want something that big.
If its just drags just get the gt4202 (74mm 1000hp)like every other vl

I do have a rough idea of power (500kw) but i dont want to have to run huge boost to get there so i am thinking that what ever it makes at 25psi i wil be happy with. Then again i might not need that much boost.

I dont really understand all the model numbers. Like gt4294 and gt4202. lol
I want something that is proven to make the numbers and run the times.
I will run nos to help it come on boost at the drags but then still want it to be able tobe driven on the streets
as stated above i do have nos...
The 399rwkw was on my old RB25 running the twin turbo setup and just running of the wastegate spring. It made that power at 8200.
